These initial sketches and paintings will then be expanded upon in the studio, with guests completing a number of abstract landscapes in acrylic paint to be displayed in the local community. Participants has sole use of the hotel, which is built around an open courtyard and has a roof terrace with panoramic vistas over the hills. The fee encompasses five days of painting tuition; full board; and an excursion to the nearby fortress and additional points of interest.

This sun-drenched foodie getaway, set on a riverside villa in the central Portuguese region, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of celebrated cooks. There will be vocal warmups, breath control techniques, stagecraft advice and a final evening concert. The retreat is based at a rural hotel overlooking St Ives Bay. Creative Writing in Greece
Author and tutor Greg Mosse leads the regular sessions on this writing retreat. He explores everything from story structure, character development, setting and tension, to submitting work to agents. A co-host, the bestselling author Kate Mosse, will co-host events at the start and finish of the retreat. The holiday is based at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the foot of the White mountains – ten one- and two-bedroom cottages are set around a garden and pool (companions are encouraged to come along).
