"Enough time has elapsed that I can now articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared archival material from the film, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".
"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist
In a distinct piece, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the local authorities.
A judicial mandate put a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" connected to the active case.
The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a record citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
