Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”
